Young Investigator Awards<\/h3>\n

The ESHG awards prizes of EUR 500.- (together with a free participation at the next meeting) for outstanding research by young scientists presented as a spoken contribution at the conference, namely:
\n– Young Investigator Awards<\/strong> for Outstanding Science
\n– Isabelle Oberl\u00e9 Award <\/strong>for Research on Genetics of Intellectual Disability
\n– Lodewijk Sandkuijl Award <\/strong>for the best talk in Statistical Genetics
\n– Vienna Medical Academy Award<\/strong> for the best talk in Translational Medicine
\n– Mia Neri Award <\/strong>for the best talk in Cancer Research
\n– ESHG Poster Awards<\/strong><\/p>\n

All young scientists submitting spoken presentations are encouraged to apply by ticking the corresponding box during submission. The nominee must be first author (i.e. presenting author) on an abstract submitted for spoken presentation and should not be more than <\/strong>four years <\/strong>post-doctoral <\/strong>and not a<\/strong> Principal Investigator (P.I.)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The best scored abstracts, which could not be selected for oral presentation will automatically compete for the ESHG Poster Awards<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Authors wishing to be considered for these awards should complete the appropriate boxes during abstract submission.
\nDeadline for application is February 14, 2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Conference Fellowships<\/h3>\n

We hope for your understanding that the ESHG cannot allocate more than one fellowship to a person per year.<\/p>\n

For fellowships 1 \u2013 3, notifications on the acceptance of your application will be emailed in the week of March 18-22.
\nFellowship 4 is at the sole discretion of your national society.<\/p>\n

1. Conference Fellowships for Central & Eastern European Countries<\/h4>\n

The ESHG provides 70 conference fellowships<\/strong>, which will be awarded by the Scientific Programme Committee to Young Investigators (not more than 4 years post-doctoral)\u00a0from a restricted number of Central & Eastern European Countries\u00a0<\/a>based on abstract acceptance<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The fellowship comprises the waiving of the registration fee, as well as EUR 300.- as contribution towards travel expenses.<\/p>\n

Authors wishing to be considered for these awards should complete the appropriate boxes during abstract submission.<\/p>\n

Deadline for application is February 14, 2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n

2. Conference Fellowships for Non-European Countries<\/h4>\n

The ESHG provides 20 conference fellowships, which will be awarded by the Scientific Programme Committee\u00a0to Young Investigators (not more than 4 years post-doctoral)\u00a0from Non-European Countries<\/strong>\u00a0(5 fellowships for each Middle and South America, Africa, Middle East and Asia) based\u00a0on abstract acceptance<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The fellowship comprises the waiving of the registration fee, as well as EUR 600.- as contribution towards travel expenses.<\/p>\n

Authors wishing to be considered for these awards should complete the appropriate boxes during abstract submission.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Deadline for application is February 14, 2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n

3. Conference Fellowships of Excellence<\/h4>\n

The ESHG provides 5 conference fellowships, which will be awarded by the Scientific Programme Committee to the best submissions by Young Investigators <\/strong>(not more than 4 years post-doctoral)\u00a0based\u00a0on the peer-reviewing process<\/strong>. No country restrictions do apply.<\/p>\n

The fellowship comprises the waiving of the registration fee, as well as EUR 600.- as contribution towards travel expenses.<\/p>\n

Authors wishing to be considered for these awards should complete the appropriate boxes during abstract submission.<\/p>\n

Deadline for application is February 14, 2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n

4. \u2018National\u2019 Fellowships<\/h4>\n

The ESHG is offering fellowships to young investigators under 35 years of age via the\u00a0National Human Genetics Societies of Europe<\/b>.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0national society<\/i>\u00a0will select\u00a0one\u00a0<\/i>fellowship holder, which should comply with the\u00a0following criteria<\/b>:
\n\u2013 She\/he should be a member of the national society.
\n\u2013 She\/he should have shown excellence in the field of human genetics, and\/or have given a good presentation\/poster at the latest national meeting.<\/p>\n

Limitations<\/b>:
\n\u2013 She\/he should not be over 35 years of age
\n\u2013 She\/he cannot receive more than one fellowship in consecutive years.<\/p>\n

\nPlease inquire with your\u00a0national society<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Benefits<\/b>:
\n\u2013 Free registration (including social events and lunches)
\n\u2013 Accommodation and Travel support up to a maximum amount of EUR 600.-<\/p>\n
